Christian Ministry
Aug. 14th, 2007 04:00 pmYesterday I saw a truck that was painted with information about a "Whip Cracking and Knife Throwing KJV-Based Christian Ministry" - http://lashandsteel.com/ -
(I have no idea what they're doing all the way up here...)
This made me think - what exactly can be considered a Christian Ministry? Does anything that can hold peoples' attention qualify, regardless of how much the vehicle itself has to do with Christianity? (Or did Jesus throw daggers for spectacle?)
What also struck me was that they specify the KJV - such a granular specification of the version of the message presented in such a far-out medium. If you're going to such lengths to relate a show to the message of God, does it make sense to be so particular about what translation you are using?
