Hommage à Peggy Hill
Feb. 13th, 2008 01:31 amI've spent 2 or 3 hours over the last week putting up the closet door in the spare bedroom (the one taking the place of the gaping hole that had always been there before). It's been surprising how difficult it is to get it just right. It's all done now, and the top right corner rubs the frame just a little bit. It's almost imperceptible.
Before every nail, I could spend forever fiddling around. It really brings out my indecision paralysis. Each nail makes more permanent whatever imperfections are already there, so I always want to fiddle with it a little bit more. Then as I come to terms with the fact that it won't be perfect, I want to leave the rest for later.
And then I realize, as usual, that if this is what I'm agonizing over - life is pretty good. And yea verily, 'tis. ^____^.
