Nov. 9th, 2006 07:56 pmThis week's unit in Healthcare Terminology was the reproductive system.
Something in the reading got me thinking about the week I spent taking care of my mom after her hysterectomy. Man, was she ever difficult! It was sort of hard to tolerate because I had had an appendectomy a few months prior, and while taking care of me she was totally insensitive to how much pain I was in and how difficult it was to move around and stuff. So several times when taking care of her, I simply had to make her laugh really hard, which is just about the most painful thing you can do after your abdominal muscles have just been cut through. And when I really got her guffawing and wincing, I of course had to say "YAH IT HURTS REAL BAD DOESN'T IT."
And still I take every opportunity to harass her about being spayed/neutered/whatever. After today's test, I was inspired to call her and ask whether she had her girl nuts removed, or just her baby bag. She laughed really hard :)
