(no subject)

On the way home from work Friday, I twice found myself at stoplights intersecting the path of wailing emergency vehicles.

At both intersections, when the light turned green, somebody honked at the people waiting for the emergency vehicles to cross. Given that the sirens were nearly rupturing my eardrums, I couldn't imagine that these honkers didn't hear what was going on. But I can't imagine that they would have honked otherwise. What motivated this honking???

I of course assume the worst. I need to stop thinking about stuff like this. It is poison for my black little heart :)
