I generally like Constructivist art, but in light of the current administration, any of those designs being used by government agencies right now is just creepy.

Seriously! I can't imagine how, during the approval process, there wouldn't be anybody saying "uh, maybe that's not the best idea right now."

I'm sure anyone voicing concerns like that is now enjoying a nice, long vacation in Siberia.

i think you mean guantanamo.

Hahaha yeah. Or maybe Gitmo.

somwhere, a graphic artist is collecting fifty bucks each from several of her friends that said there was no way she'd get that thinly veiled joke of a design all the way to the DOT kiosks.

hahaha...you're probably right. It would be comforting to think that at least somebody along the way didn't have their head up their ass.

hahahahahaha

That's almost EXACTLY what I was thinking.

That's an interesting juxtaposition, considering how much those posters resemble the propaganda posters from WWI and WWII, which is actually pretty fucking terrifying.

The sad thing is that I actually like that form of blocky, constructivist art. Always have. Say what you will about those Reds, they knew their propaganda.

But yeah, it might as well have "INGSOC" spelled out at the bottom with a date for the next Junior Anti-Sex League meeting.

Bahahaha...you know, I had a 1984-themed get-together on election night '04, and not one person wore a Junior Anti-Sex League uniform. I was sorely disappointed.

hmm looks like a few Nazi propaganda billboards
