I went in to vote at 2:30 today and there was NO LINE. Great for me, but...bad for America???

not really. The morning was PACKED. Poll workers said that when I came in was the first lull (just after noon). It will pick up again after work.

Yeah, I'm sure. I guess most people don't have jobs where they can leave whenever the hell they feel like it :-D

Right. While I was busy leaving every child behind, I'm sure other people were actually working for a living. Thank God I work in a job where I draw an unreasonably high salary for doing nothing!

I only had to wait about 2 minutes at 8:30 this morning. I see these stories of long lines and voter intimidation and I think, WTF? Voting is uneventful to the point of being boring for me!

You must live in one of those anti-America places where people don't vote ;-)

hmm, you mean somewhere in America???

Indeed. My friend Christine the Attorney is monitoring a polling place in Detroit and she says it's quieter than it was in 2004. I assume the excitement is probably happening more in states that are more hotly contested.

Hrm, I didn't factor the McCain pull-out into my assessment. Some of the craziness might decrease because every figures Obama has won the state. Sad... there are many other elections out there that just as important (if not more important) than president right now.

Yeah, I'm thinking lower turnout *and* fewer jerks trying to prevent people from voting or otherwise intimidate them.

the Obamabots were off having their afternoon nappy time. They'll return to throw rocks at all the good, white, Christian, "real" Americans who actually work for incomes they don't want none of their redistributed.

ooh thanks for reminding me! I'm on the rock-throwing schedule for 5-6.

Ok but I plan to park a few blocks away - I generally don't like other liberals to see that I don't drive a hybrid :(

Nobody will even be able to see them with all the aborted fœtuses I have in there.

hehe, with the wrappers, nobody will be able to tell the difference between the fetuses and your everyday fast food debris

My precinct is the student-heavy 'hood that has such low turnout we don't even get our own polling place. Apparently there was almost an hour wait at one point this morning.

Last time I was voter 40-something at noon; this year I went at 10:30 and was voter 200-something. So I'd say that's good.
